My name is Emily, and I am the founder of Protea Design Studios!
With a decade of experience working with start-up companies, small businesses, and multiple six-figure e-commerce brands, I decided to create Protea Design Studios to help others focus on their dreams alongside cultivating my own. Building an affordable website you are proud of is within reach, without code, without an agency – without the headache. I created Protea Design Studios so you can focus on doing what you love – so we can both spend more time with those we love!

⊹ My husband is from South Africa, which sparked my love for the bush (or ‘Going on Safari’) and African Animals, specifically elephants and rhinos.
⊹ I have a strong passion for giving a voice to animals in need and the environment
⊹ I have two English Bulldogs; both are rescues!
⊹ I LOVE traveling and experiencing new cultures

The story behind Protea Design Studios
The Protea flower is South Africa’s national flower.
When my husband and I started dating, he would buy me these flowers now and again, and they quickly became my absolute favorite.
They were a part of my bouquet for our wedding.
And I have a tattoo of one on my arm.
They are bold, unique, resilient, and thrive in extreme conditions throughout South Africa.
These are all attributes I feel are important in a website that reflects the hard work you’ve put into your business.
